Why Transform Worlds? The Story Behind Transforming World Education

Dr Ana Radović

On education, diverse perspectives and the belief that knowledge can contribute to meaningful change.

Throughout my years working across education, research, international development and civil society, one question has continued to return: how can we turn knowledge, experience and good ideas into changes that genuinely matter to people?

I've had opportunities to work with different organisations, across countries and cultural contexts. Each experience has brought new insights, but also reminded me of the importance of questioning my own assumptions, listening to different perspectives and understanding the circumstances in which people live, learn and work.

I've been particularly interested in how decisions affecting education, inclusion and social opportunities are made, and whose knowledge and experiences are recognised along the way.

Education as a starting point, not a boundary

The name Transforming World Education reflects my belief that education plays an important role in shaping how we understand ourselves, others and the world around us.

But education doesn't happen only in schools and universities.

We learn through the communities we belong to, the organisations we work with, the relationships we build and the experiences that encourage us to think differently.

That's why Transform Worlds connects education with research, evaluation, public policy, community engagement and social responsibility.

These areas are not separate. They continually intersect and can enrich one another.

From research to practice

Research can raise important questions, illuminate inequalities and offer new ways of understanding complex social challenges.

Yet the value of research doesn't end when findings are published.

What also matters is how those findings are communicated, who can access them and how they might inform educational content, professional practice, programmes and decisions.

It's equally important to recognise that valuable knowledge doesn't come exclusively from academic or institutional sources. Individuals and communities hold experiences and insights that can deepen our understanding and contribute to more relevant responses.

I see considerable potential for collaboration and change in bringing these different forms of knowledge together.

Why Transform Worlds?

Transform Worlds grew from a desire to bring my professional and research experience together in an independent space for collaboration, learning and the development of practical solutions.

The idea isn't that one approach works for everyone, or that complex social challenges have simple answers.

Quite the opposite. I believe thoughtful responses require an understanding of context, critical reflection, diverse perspectives and a willingness to keep learning.

Through research, evaluation, advisory work, participatory processes and the development of educational resources, I hope to help connect knowledge and practice in ways that are useful, inclusive and socially responsible.

Looking ahead

Transform Worlds represents a new chapter in a professional journey that began long before the consultancy itself.

It's an opportunity to continue learning, collaborating with people and organisations from different backgrounds, and contributing to initiatives that seek to make education, policy and practice more equitable and accessible.

I don't believe transformation always begins with sweeping change.

Sometimes it starts with a better question, more attentive listening or a willingness to see something from another perspective.

These are the kinds of beginnings I hope to support through Transform Worlds.
